Carroll Boone, J.D., M.S.W. has more than twenty years experience in program management, training, win-win problem solving, group facilitation, and mediation. She received her law degree in 1980 from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, and has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Washington. Ms. Boone is a certified mediator and negotiator with considerable training and experience. Ms. Boone's approach to mediation includes coaching participants during the process to increase their personal conflict resolution skills and respect for differences. She has extensive training in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) based on the world wide peace-making work of Marshall Rosenberg. She finds NVC a powerful addition to the win-win mediation and negotiation techniques she has developed and used over the last 20 years. Ms. Boone uses convergence, consensus building, mediation, negotiation, and facilitation to effectively mediate organizational, employment, and personal disputes. A primary interest of Ms. Boone is public policy multi-party dispute resolution. She has designed and facilitated consensus-based processes involving up to 25 parties from diverse factions. Ms. Boone teaches mediation, negotiation, and Respect Based Communication in a variety of international settings including conferences, community organizations, government agencies, and churches.
